: This is something Ive been pondering for some time now,
: what lies in Avernus, and Gower. In the Myth TFL
: mannual, it was discussed that the Edge of All lies to
: the east of Gower, perhaps this is where the dark
: reside when they arent making incursions into the
: West. Additionaly Ive asked myself how the Cath Bruig
: Empire was so soundly defeated? While Alric and the
: likely smaller armies of the Province fought and
: survived for 18 years defeated the fallen lord,
: rebuilt their civilization, then defeated Soulblighter
: 60 years later. It seems to me the Armies of the dark
: must have been MUCH stronger when they sacked
: Muirthemne 50 years before the Great War. And if so,
: why did the armies get smaller, and stay smaller. One
: thing Ive concluded, is that there are likely ruined
: cities in Avernus, Gower and the Barrier, part of the
: old Cath Bruig Empire, although we only actualy know
: of Muirthemne. Additionaly it seems to me perhaps the
: dark viewed the Cath Bruig empire a greather threat,
: than the armies of the province, after all the
: Cloudspine does seperate the west from the east, and
: following the sack of Muirthemne the Barrier further
: seperates the two sides. Therefore its logical, that
: once the dwarfs reinhabited Myrgard and Stoneheim, and
: once Muirthemne is rebuilt the Dark would, if they
: follow suit, begin a renewed campaign of distruction
: as at such a point the light would be a greater
: threat. I supose I could further sumise if the light
: strove to inhabit avernus and gower, that would also
: provoke further strong response. Well Id appreciate
: any comments.

muirthemne was sacked so easily by the dark because all the fallen and their forces were most likely all together at that time
by the time they reached the west they were split up
so shiver was really the first to get to the free cities of the north
the watcher was over in the ermine and the other guys were still probably in the east somewhere
