Yes, well too far. ;-)
Black holes share nothing in common with "The Great Devoid". Black holes, as best understood (you can't actually _see_ one), crushes all matter into a space smaller than normal, with gravity overcoming weak and strong forces in atoms (those that keep a nucleus together, and electrons in "orbit"). That is to say, the earth would be shrunken to the size of a pin head, and not spit out heads or severed limbs afterwards. Just a jumble of subatomic particles, if black holes spit out anything.
Basically, you've drawn on Hollywood too much for your connection. ;-) Not that Bungie didn't, but just clearing up a lil' physics (or, theories involved therein).
