Ares, you're the one who started the debate. You posted the obviously incorrect claim that the two statements were necessarily inconsistent; Dan pointed out that you were wrong; I thought his post could use a little clarification. I really didn't expect that you could possibly think, on reflection, that your original opinion was correct. I thought that, at most, you'd reply with something like, "Oh. Well, I interpret the statements differently, but I can see that under your interpretation there is no inconsistency." Instead, you responded by saying that (against all logic and common sense) the interpretation that produces an inconsistency must be the correct one! Credit Bungie with a a modicum of intelligence, will you? Assume, all other things being equal, that they prefer to create worlds that make sense. Or at least permit others to make that assumption.
So yes, we debated you. But that's only because none of us who disagree live close enough to bombard your house with dead livestock via catapult.
Crown princes can't have thrones...jeez...
