: The Fallen overran the southern reagions of The Provence
: in about a year. Soulblighter probobly would have
: moved faster because of his, shall we say, less than
: kind treatment of indiginent populations alowed him to
: keep his entire army on the move. That said, do you
: think the goverment could have moved the goverment to
: safty, concitering the tecnology avalable to them,
: before SB was upon them? I think not, so the Royle
: family was probobly traped in their capital when
: Soulblighter arrived.
I think that exactly these tactics would slow Soulblighter's army considerably. If he has to stop and eradicate every small village or settlement, it would take much longer than just march past and give them the finger... This can be seen in real life, too: Many consider Hitler's costly and unnecessary systematic extermination of large parts of his population to have blunted the impact of his army hugely, because of soldiers taken away from the front, fuel, money, manpower and raw materials etc... wasted in building and running the KZ's. I see little reason why stopping to eradicate everyone indiginous would speed up Soulblighter where it slowed down Hitler (who had the benefit of the most advanced technology of the time)...
However, the rest of your post is coherent and convincing...
: I think I have pointed out several spots where the games
: and common sence do disagree. But thats just my own
: observations. Does anyone have any hard evedence to
: the contrary? If so PLEASE post it.
Especially that bit: it has become obvious vrom The Asylum that GURPS is incorrect in several points. We have discussed the reasons for this as well as the instances. I, however, haven't bought it, and precisely for this reason. If some of it is false, then one has to go through every point in the book and prove it. Sometimes this is not possible, as the author had access to Bungie documents as source material. While some of you have plenty of time on your hands, (and so do I at the moment, in between Semesters as I am), it doesn't really make for rewarding or interesting work (well, sometimes it might, but still why bother?).
