Hold up! Where did you get this information? I have always thought that Madrical was one of the Free Citys before it was sacked, and that Alric only made it capital after the war. I am not saying you are wrong, just that that conflicts with every bit of evidence (which addmitadly is not much) I have.
That Covenant was the old capital makes most sence to me because of the snips of history we have. A war of Sessesion fought around the city. Muariack ruled from Covinent and it makes perfect sence that he would do so from the original capital, because that is where the buerocracy would have been centered.
I am mainly interested in this because I find the politcal/social issues of the light ages very intreging. So if you are right about this, it will change things greatly.
