Well, they certenly would have been repared many times when connacht drove the Mirkridia away. However this does not mean the spider religion had not had influence in mirthemni befor that time. If the smiths where so good, and did in fact make their home in Mirthemni, then I see no reason why the powers that controled the city would not use them to build/rebuild the wall. I think if you are under sieg on and off by the highest link on the food chain you would want the best builders around to work on your battlements.
