I think Damas could be considered to be one of Connacht's avatara. Even if he didn't know magic at the time and hadn't yet been magically enhanced he still was strong and was Connacht's Luetenant. If The Deciever survived his encounter with Shiver in "Shiver" (for a good theory on how he could, would, and should survive read my now archived message "The Deciever" or consider that in the briefing for “The Wall” it’s mentioned that Myrdred possesed super speed and he could have escaped while casting an illusion to fake his death) then he would still have the crow he took from Soulblighter. Because of things said in the briefing for “The Wall” I disagree with GURPS and I believe he didn’t kill the crow. If the crow turned back into it’s Soulblighter form after Soulblighter was killed then since the crow would then represent Soulblighter’s only conscousness (‘cuz the rest of him was dead) it would become his head. The head probably would then be forced to obey The Deciever under threat of death. With powerful magics Myrdred would keep the head alive even though it had no body and with some cosmetic surgery (done by the most advanced dwarven doctors that The Deciever could find and use Binding Dream on) the head would no longer look like Soulblighter. Then it would be ready for it’s job. Go back in time and help defeat Balor but also study Alric and report the info to The Deciever that was around in the Great War who would remember any strengths and weaknesses to someday use against Alric.
I don’t believe that this theory is correct or that time travel is even possible in Myth but I do think that The Deciever is alive and well with a poor crow that’s unable to transform but I just wanted to propose this admitedly weird idea.
