I think he was referring to the Leveller in general, not this particular incarnation, who's been alive for as long as the Myrmidons have.
But anyway, GURPS says there's still a few Myrmidons around, but they keep to themselves and are too bloodthirsty and psycho even to be recruited by a Dark Lord; they attack *anyone* living who approaches them. I don't see any reason not to believe it.
