: I doubt the head belongs to Balor. It seems more likely
: that it's Nyx's son (or Wyrd's I can't remember). I
: read somewhere, I think it was GURPS (which kinda
: takes away from the credibility of my argument) that
: whichever-god-it-was had a kid and the dark gods tried
: to assasinate him but his head lived on. Assuming that
: theory is wrong I still doubt the head was Balor's and
: was catipulted back in time to start the cycle and
: bring itself into existence in doing so. That doesn't
: work because it's impossible to bring yourself into
: existence by going back in time. I don't really want
: to or have time to explain it but I will if someone
: asks. If you think about it it's pretty basic. Not
: like all that weird Total Codex paradox stuff that I
: only mostly understand. Well I'm ranting so I'll shut
: up and try to leave you to your contemplation.

It's quite easy to bring yourself into existence by going back in time. Well, okay, not EASY, but look at Feynman's pair-creation-annihilation example, with an electron bouncing forwards and backwards through time. The electron-positron pair came into existence in the first place because the future electron moved back through time and started the creation process.

Hey, there's a theory no one's had; The Head is Balor's head, but it's moving backwards through time even as we see it. And just like matter moving backwards becomes antimatter, The Head becomes a moral anti-Balor and therefore helps defeat Balor! So why did The Head double-cross the Nine at the end? Well, from his backwards perspective, he met them at the beginning, when he didn't know or trust them, or know why they were attacking his past self. As he found out about Balor's iniquities (from his new moral perspective), he started helping them in earnest, finally aiding them to defeat Shiver. Got it? It's so simple!
