I doubt throwing Alric into the Devoid would do it. I'm pretty sure the cycle and destiny and whatnot will keep Alric alive untill it's time for him to become the leveller. I also doubt that the Devoid wold work a second time. I think a death for a leveller only works once. this would explain why its always different except unless the heroes are simply looking for more innovative ways to kill the leveller which would be a big risk to take given the two possible outcomes: an end to the horror or the leveller coming back stronger
