A couple of other problems with the (admittedly incredibly creative) "Myrkridia are endothermic therapsids" theory:
The Myrkridia's fangs are definitely a mammalian characteristic. Reptiles and even primitive mammals like opossums have an almost uniform dentition; no division into incisors, canines, etc. Every tooth looks nearly identical. Only more advanced mammals, like sabre-toothed tigers, would have a pair of enormous fangs in the same mouth with a lot of much smaller teeth.
If they're asexual, how come they wear loincloths? That certainly suggests some cultural significance for that part of their bodies, and some reason why it's not supposed to be seen all the time.
: ́Ancient, simple, elegant, and deadly, the Myrkridian
: body form is far more powerful than that of its
: mammalian descendants.
Then how come we're descended from it? While it's true that evolution doesn't inexorably lead to "progress," it's hard to imagine a set of selective pressures that would cause a Myrkridia to evolve into a soft, slow, weak mammal. What survival trick do we have that they don't?
