: Actually, only Garrick is a captain, Cruniac is a level
: above (Lieutenant?). And then there's the journal
: writer, who seems to be above just a grunt, but below
: Captain. Actually, he (in TFL) tends to speak of
: Mauriac as an equal, so mb the Journal Writer is a
: Warrior Captain!
Cruniac's spoken of as a "commander;" I think that's his official rank, probably. As for the Myth2 narrator, I think he *is* just a grunt. Garrick gave the journal to keep because he's unusually intelligent and curious and trustworthy, not because he's higher-ranking than the others. Garrick just thought the narrator might be interested. As the game progresses, of course, the narrator gets an effective boost in rank and respect because of his veteran status and participation in so many vital battles.
You think the TFL guy speaks of Mauriac like an equal? I dunno. In the first journal entry, he speaks of "our officers" as if he's not one of them.
: There's Baeldun, commanding most of the West while
: Alric's away in Muirthemne. What rank would he be?
Oh, right, Baelden. Forgot about him. I guess he'd be a general like the Nine used to be. Fine! Where's lieutenant deputy general second class, eh?
: Well, the Herons were fighting alongside the Emperor in
: the final push against Moagim Reborn (where the Emp
: died), and I would presume that Connacht was there
: too. So they did fight alongside him at least once.
True. But that wasn't at Connacht's request, of course.
: I call Bill Gates purely evil. I mean, he's obviously not
: in the computing game to make good products, and he
: doesn't really need any more money (and he can get it
: just sitting back doing nothing, anyway), so why keep
: doing the things he's doing? Control. There's a quote
: somewhere about him saying you need to make people
: need you, which he has done quite well with Windows.
: Anyway, I think we can agree that people out to
: control everyone are basically evil, yeah?
Well, *that's* a good way to make this a 777-post thread. Who needs platform wars when we can shout about Microsoft?
:-)
So did he take that "make people need you" thing directly from "The Prince?"
: Hey, did you guys ever see that movie about, you know,
: that guy and his friends going down to that place, I
: forget the name... and they did all that stuff,
: remember? Ooh, and the ending was SOOO cool, wasn't
: it?
Yeah, I loved Roman Polanski's MacBeth too.
: ROTFL!
: Man, you guys should do some humor stuff. Maybe we three
: together should revive my old Mythnomer fan-fic humor
: series that never got off the ground.
We'll contact Sibrax directly. :-)
