Alric is still their emporer and the hero of this age. The dark should still be coming en mass fo around 900 years and their hero will be usefull. I doubt every is eager to test what would happen if they interfered and they probably think destiny would still find a way to make Alric the leveller. Also the Heron Gaurd is chalked full of strong morals so they wouldn't feel right killing Alric for what he has not yet done.
