GURPS is short for Generic Universal Role Playing System. Basically, it's what it says--a standardized system for making RPG's in any setting. There's a general rulebook, plus supplementary books on how to adapt the system to a particular setting--how to set an RPG in the Star Wars universe, for instance. GURPS Myth is such a book for playing an RPG in the Mythworld. As such, it contains lots of background information on the history of the Mythworld, the races that populate it, the magic spells available, etc. It's available for sale at the Bungie Store, so if you want you can go there and have a look at it and see what they say about it.
