HE DIDN'T LOSE IT IN THE DESERT! THE HEAD WAS EITHER WRONG OR LYING!! HE FOUND IT IN THE DESERT BEFORE HE DESTROYED MUIRTHEMNE; THE HEAD EITHER DIDN'T KNOW IT HAD BEEN FOUND ALREADY OR KNEW AND WANTED ALRIC OUT OF THE WAY!!
