We did speculate on this back in the day, but it was basically just "The Myrmidons made a really stupid bargain; Myrdred's got mind control powers, so maybe he was the one that convinced them to make that bargain?" There didn't really turn out to be anything of substance in it, especially in light of the new GURPS stuff. Apparently, the Myrms just followed Balor, then struck out on their own when he died, uninterested in serving any other Fallen Lord.
