He was the Hero of the Wind Age, but the heroic thing he did was to end the Wind Age (a Dark Age) and establish the Wolf Age (a Light Age). After which his heroism was no longer needed. So he only really acted as a hero during the Wind Age, hence the title. I know, it's a little confusing, but this seems to be supported by in-game stuff even without resorting to GURPS.
