True; I'm not really sure whether they have a sense of self-preservation or not (obviously if they do have one, it's much weaker than their lust for battle). Originally I thought they were all destroyed when Balor was--because he had personally granted them immortality, when he died those magics failed and they crumbled to dust or something. But according to GURPS, they're still around. They roam through deserted areas in small bands, avoiding large groups of the living and attacking and killing small groups.
