I did read your first message, and no offense, but there are enough grammatical weirdnesses in it that I think I can be excused for misunderstanding your meaning. :-)

What's wrong with things being "even more insane"? As long as The Head is lying to and double-crossing everyone, he might as well lie about where the armor is and who has it. Alternatively, he might be telling the truth as he knows it--if he's been buried in the ground for a thousand years or so, then there's been plenty of time for Balor to grab the armor (or even for Connacht to, before he became Balor) without The Head being aware of it. All he'd know is that it was out there the last time he was aboveground.

You can trawl through the archives to see our discussion of the whole "invulnerability" thing. My basic view is that you're allowed to call someone invulnerable when what you actually mean is "invulnerable, except when zapped with an uber-powerful Eblis stone and whacked on by a dozen claymores for several minutes." And remember that the armor itself was undamaged; the zerks just got their swords in the crack between Balor's helmet and the neck of his armor.
