: Who says no spiders got out? If Chimera is any
: indication, a few did.
Actually, there have always been Spiders outside the Tain. TFL betas had spider flavors about mothers warning their children to go to bed on time or the giant spiders would come and get them. Dwarven legend speaks of giant spiders found far underground (TFL manual).
: Besides, Murgen freed the legion, which broke the Tain,
: not vice-versa. If he had been trying to free the
: spiders, I suppose that would have happened.
Actually, they (Murgen and Cu Roi - why does everybody forget poor Cu Roi?) shattered the Tain at the exit, to let free all the Legionairres. Only a few actually walked out the exit - they suspected another 500 or so men were trapped elsewhere within the Tain, and that the only chance to free them was to break the Tain. Murgen, apparently, wasn't quite sure if doing so would also set free everything that had even been imprisoned in the Tain, as he didn't respond to the journal-writer's questions about it.
