No you didn't, don't worry. I would rather know all I can even if it does not agree with things that I think.

The fact is Bungie looked over GURPS and agreed with it. Either A) they thought Gene's idea was good and decided to keep it, B) they didn't really bother to pay much attention to the details or C) they had decided to change it after that piece of pre-release info.
