When are you people going to realize how invalid this GURPS crud is? I mean c'mon. Is there ANYTHING in the game or Bungie documentation to back up that statement that Alric should have died?
The cycle makes perfect sense still. Tireces slays the Leveller, disappears, returns as Moagim... Connacht arises, slays Moagim, disappears, returns as Balor. Alric rises, slays Balor... now he just needs to disappear and return as the Leveller.
GURPS got confused because of the statement at the end of the game that "it is even conceivable that because of [Soulblighter's] actions, the cycle has been broken" or something, which is crap and a half - the narrator didn't understand the cycle and didn't know what he was talking about. The Watcher minicycle is the same as the Soulblighter minicycle - Remember? After Moagim's defeat, Connacht had to deal with The Watcher and trap him in the cloudspine with the confinement dream. Now, after Balor's defeat, Alric has to deal with Soulbligher and trap him in molten lava (kill him even mb). So in the next cycle, Alric is the leveller, Soulblighter is a Fallen Lord (again) if he survived (like the Watcher was a Fallen Lord for two cycles in a row) and Soulblighter will die in the next cycle (like The Watcher did) etc.
Now I know it doesnt happen exactly the same every time, but I'm demonstrating that it CAN - the cycle has been broken? Not a chance.
