: Man, now I can't find the reference, but I know I saw it
: somewhere talking about how Soulblighter rediscovered
: what was Balor's greatest secret, the reanimation of
: the dead, and blah blah blah...
OH. You CAN'T FIND the REFERENCE. I'm SO SURE. Nice TRY, FORREST. Et cetera, et CETERA.
Yeah, it sounds vaguely familiar to me too. Maybe killing duck said it?
: But, as seen in GURPS, undead are all over the place and
: people frequently summon them. I imagine that those
: human associates who aren't already dead taught it to
: their court wizards and such so that they could more
: quickly make more undead, and in that was the powers
: of necromancy have spread.
But how long will they stay spread? As GURPS says, necromancy is a cottage industry, illegal in Light societies. It's reasonable to assume that as the Light rebuilds and strengthens itself, it's going to crack down on all those minor dark sorcerers. In another thousand years, all undead-raising spells could very well be forgotten again.
