Uhm, if Damas was a good man under Connacht, and Connacht returned as Balor with an evil version of Damas by his side, isnt it likely that Soulblighter was turned by Connacht / Balor?
I personally ove Milk Man's "minicycle" theory.
1. Tireces returns as Moagim to lay waste to the world
2. Connacht defeats Moagim
3. The Watcher, presumably one of Moagim's Fallen Lords, defeated by Connacht shortly thereafter, trapped in mountainside
4. Connacht returns as Balor
5. Alric defeats Balor
6. Soulblighter, one of Balor's Fallen Lords, defeated by Alric shortly thereafter, trapped in lava.
If it continues, presumably, Alric will return as the Leveler, with Soulblighter (NOW AT THIS TIME AN ANCIENT EVIL, but not before) as a Fallen Lord again, and also some allies such as Baeldun that were turned from the Light. (OK, Baeldun might not have magic, but neither does Soulblighter. Both are kick-ass melee)
I think that whole turned from the light / ancient evil thing is a load of bull hockey. Forget the stupid prerelease info and concentrate on what Bungie wanted to include.
