: So now we have: (note that all events described begin the
: age written next to them)
: Age of Reason - Tireces defeats the Leveler.
: Dark Age - Tireces returns as Moagim.
: Light Age - Great Hero defeats Moagim.
: Wind Age - Great Hero returns as Moagim Reborn.
: Wolf Age - Connacht defeats Moagim Reborn.
: Sword Age - Connacht returns as Balor.
: New Age of Light - Alric defeats Balor.
But if we're throwing out GURPS, then there's no Moagim Reborn. So it would go:
: Age of Reason - Tireces defeats the Leveler.
: Wind Age - Tireces returns as Moagim.
: Wolf Age - Connacht defeats Moagim.
: Sword Age - Connacht returns as Balor.
: New Age of Light - Alric defeats Balor.
But then there's still the problem that Balor hasn't been ruling the past 500 years! He just showed up 50 years ago (from TFL time)! Well, he'd been around for at least 300 years before that, subborning the Myrmidons, but he didn't make his grand entrance until 50 years ago.
The only way I could explain such a thing would be that Connacht somehow DID break the cycle, and postponed his arrival as Balor until the dawn of a new Light Age, so that he would inevitably be killed soon thereafter. So the Wolf Age, unlike others, DID last a thousand years.
But still, I think GURPS' explanation is a lot nicer and cleaner, and we don't have to throw out all the usefull information in it. And most of all, I DON'T HAVE TO REWRITE THE FSCKING ENCYCLOPEDIA!
