: must traverse the Uncharted Lands, then the Rocks of
: Doom, then take a left at the Waterfall of the
: Gods," etc.
I dont think he was actuly asking for directions. "show me the way to Leix" was symbolic of his determination to destroy the pirats once and for all. Wouldent you think that a powerfull man like Mealdun would know where the most famose pirats in the world where based? "Show me the way..." is short for, "oh my, now they have gone and ruined my villa, I shalt go forth and smite the heathens so as they will never rise again." And so forth.
Did the Trow say to the Ghols " If you do not join our cause we will wipe out your race."? No the emisary said "...or we will fell your people like a pine forrest" and proceaded to exsplain the selection of pine to the ghols.
See? Its all figuitive.
