Numerics and Powers do not equate...

In Response To: And... (Stinger)

As the other asylumers stated in this thread, by defeating another Fallen Lord/Avatarra does not make you more powerful then them. It is mostly circumstantial magic and strategies that determine the outcome.

Soulblighter was a warrior and did not depend on magic as much as the Deceiver. He [Soulblighter] had learned the Black Arts at his hidden temple in the Untamed Lands and removed his own heart so that he would become immortal. He also learned to shift into a murder of crows in order to escape and travel from area to area. We also know that Soulblighter has within his posession the Trammist's Mirror, which he used to bring back Shiver/Ravanna from the ether. So he was much newer to the 'Balck Arts' then most of the other more powerful users.

The Deceiver is one of the more ancient Fallen. His magic powers were very slanderous and sly and the others often did not know what he was capable of doing. He would travel through odd angles and could move very quickly this way, but only when others were not watching. He was reincarnated many times, but unlike Shiver, he never lost his earthly body/form. He had a deep hatred for the Watcher, so he was probably an Avatarra of Mazzarin during the Wind Age or even before. His story is generally one of the best in the game, but uncovering his deep, dark secrets may prove to be a task in and of itself without help from bungie directly.

So before you start making comparisons to power levels of users, keep in mind who the user is and what approach they would take in battle. Althought he Deceiver was very deceitful, he often fought with a mad rage. And Soulbligher, althogh a venerable warrior, always depended on his magic to support him in case his skills failed him.

Each man had a second side to him and probably more. Now before you try and bring the Lurker into this, keep in mind that there was still a land to the east that needed to be controlled. Gower and the lands east of it, would have probably been where the Lurker was remaining, as the known Myth world had no unpredictable weather to speak about.

Sincerely,
Pimpy™
