Okay, so the Trow don't really *like* people. But whatever they feel, respect or love or fellowship or whatnot, they must feel a lot of it for Myrdred. After all, it's not like Balor was going to go "Oh, okay" and leave if they refused to help him--I'm sure the thought of self-preservation had more of an effect on them than they admitted in the comic (the story, after all, was told by a Trow to a human, so he probably cleaned it up a little.) And we know that Balor promised them a chance to regain their empire. When they considered joining Alric, on the other hand, there was neither any reason to fear refusing nor any selfish reason to want to accept. Okay, so Myrdred might have lied to them. But I still think they must have had fairly good relations with him in the past.
