: In anticipation of taking partial control of the AN
: Plugin project while SiliconDream gets actual things
: done that he needs to do, I have mentally prepared a
: few things on my imaginary "to do" list. All
: these are pending Sil's approval, of course, but I
: think a few are fairly unanimous...
Hey, you don't need my approval. I don't own the plug. And *any* task for which someone else volunteers, I'll automatically approve. :-)
: *Milk Man's unit needs to have it's contrail removed,
: needs to use the built-in warlock collection to
: preserve size constraints, and we need to see if we
: can get that peasent fixed.
Is size a major problem? I originally requested no external collections, but then no one seemed to have any problems with downloading.
As for the peasant--I can slap a couple extra actions on so he won't kill himself if any friends are nearby, but I kinda doubt it would be worth it. I think we should just follow Forrest's advice and change it back to a projectile. MM's not supposed to be (I think) a particularly effective unit anyway--we'll just keep him a few miles off to the side where he can't hurt anyone and shoot anything that happens to wander nearby.
: *I have noticed that some units have external collection
: tags with no discernable (to me) purpose. Sil, I'll
: ask you about how you did these units...
Here's the collections and what they're made for:
Blackhand: Sped-up animations, SPIN-KIK animation, new attack sounds
Ducky's squirrel: Sped-up animations
Duckyjo: Sped-up animations, different sounds
Ho collection: A new type of unit, of course.
Joy: You tell me!
Milkman: I'm not really sure. I assume he uses different sounds, and maybe his colors are different? He just sent it to me with his tags and I included it.
SiliconDream: *Very* sped-up animations, different sounds
Most of the sped-up animations, BTW, are functionally important as they determine how fast the creature can attack/pick up things/throw things. They're not just cosmetic.
Hope that answers your questions.
Oh, and, as I said in reply to Nick, I can do most of this stuff (e.g. revising units, changing collections), but I can't apply it to more than one or two maps. If you want to do it all I certainly won't object, but all you (or anyone else who wants to help) *have* to do is apply the new scripting, etc., to all the maps. When I say "all you have to do" I don't mean to imply that that's a simple or quickly-accomplished task, though. You'd almost certainly be doing more work than me.
