: I've always thought the guy in the comic was Myrdred (aka
: the Deceiver) in his avatara getup. The other avatara
: (with the exception of Rabican) in Myth:TFL wear
: similar cowls (though their faces do show), and the
: roll call of Connacht's lieutenants has always been
: Myrdred and Damas, not Damas and some guy nobody ever
: heard of. My guess is that Myrdred would have stopped
: wearing the avatara costume when he became a Fallen
: Lord because he didn't want people confusing him with
: Alric (or Bungie didn't want this to happen). As for
: that thing around his neck? Maybe it's supposed to be
: a weird artist's rendering of the tain.
But Myrdred wasn't one of Connacht's lieutenants. The Avatara came into existence independently of Connacht, though I suppose they allied with him once he became the preeminent hero of his age. Myrdred wouldn't start following Connacht around until he became Balor.
