Maybe they had a little bit to much dwarven spirits. Then wandered into the untamed land, got captured by a slave caravan that took them and sold them as slaves in the Faraway. They eventually won their freedom and returned to their homelands. This horrible experience scarred them forever and made them go bad. This would explain why they hate humanity...
