OK... my theory was wrong, missed that sidebar.
: That same sidebar suggests that the lands beyond the
: known land of Myth don't really exist, because Wyrd
: couldn't see them.
No, I continue to believe that the "mad journeyman" was correct in saying that the myth world is a disc. In fact, just the other day I chanced upon something (I think it was the glossary in one of the manuals) which said that the Great Devoid was the endless pit in the CENTER OF THE WORLD. My theory is that the myth world is a disk with a whole in the middle, much like a CD, The Great Devoid is endless as it is just tunnel that goes strait through the world the world. Perhaps the theory about Mahir comming from the devoid (remember that from way-back-when?) Is correct as on the other side of the devoid is where the dead are held by the magics "no mortal could ever hope to master"
: Now, here's the theory. Long ago, there was just Joe
: Ordinary Planet
Disc, it's a disc :)
: with the Dark Gods ruling over it. Nyx
: may have been one of these old gods.
So we're discarding the Creator, Preserver, Destroyer theory?
: The Ghols were one of many races who lived there and worshipped the Dark Gods.
One of many? The others being?
: Then Wyrd woke up from the One Dream, in
: which he had a vision of a new world.
So then who was Wyrd? One of the dark gods? Or was he just a being who had slept for eternity and just woke up? I know this is trivial but just wondering if you have an idea :)
: but the Dark Gods didn't want him messing with their planet.
DISC!
: Really pissed off, the Dark Gods beheaded Wyrd's son. Nyx
: spat (figuratively) on Wyrd's creation, creating
: Tharsis. In Tharsis, she made the Trow, to rule over
: Wyrd's stupid little world.
How do you explain the Trow having existed since the "dawn of time"? Perhaps time was created by Wyrd when he made his "dream world"
: and the Myrkridia were general bad-asses.
GURPS seems to imply that the Myrkridia were little more than feral animals (though pretty damn scary) before Moagim came along and organized them into a killer army. This would also explain the intelligence, size, and wierd death sequence of Myrk giants, they were probably just magically augmented myrks that Moagim created to help him command his armies.
-Milk Man
P.S. Forgot to make this point, if Wyrd was powerless after the shattering of the dream, according to your theory, how was he still making races?
P.P.S. GREAT THEORY!
