Well in the beta versions of Myth, Alric is listed as Caliban which is a name found in at least one of Shakespeare's plays. Hold on lemme go get it...
Ah, okay im back. I've got his complete works so im missing nothing to referance. The following is a list of Caliban appearences:

Caliban, a savage and deformed Slave.
Alric seems hardly "a savage and deformed Slave" but names appear in many texts. Bungie has never ran out of creative names though. "Bob" was just brilliant, i mean...wow.
