: One thing springs to mind: --- Howcome the Fir'Bolg are
: Archery-Masters, and not particularly good at anything
: else---
: As a forest people, as I gather they are, one would
: imagine that they would have been much better at
: fighting in wooded areas. In the game, they are
: approaching useless in every heavily-wooded map,
: because of the 'line of sight' criterium... this means
: that they are useless in their natural habitat, but
: excel the alien terrain of woodless mountain and
: plain... odd, one would think that they would have
: somehow gotten around this problem after untold
: generations in the Ermine Forest. Maybe they would
: have developed blowdarts, like our own earthly forest
: peoples.... I do however, note the bald reference to
: Tolkien's Wood Elves and the like...
: I would be genuinely interested in a proposed answer to
: this question...
I had the same idea for the Berserks in Creation's Homeland map. I felt that there should be some advantage for the northerners fighting on their own turf so to speak. In most wargames, Scots are usualy much faster than any other units in mountainous regions, perhaps the zerks in Homeland should have been able to move past the trees easier or climb the snowy hills.
