One thing springs to mind:

As a forest people, as I gather they are, one would imagine that they would have been much better at fighting in wooded areas. In the game, they are approaching useless in every heavily-wooded map, because of the 'line of sight' criterium... this means that they are useless in their natural habitat, but excel the alien terrain of woodless mountain and plain... odd, one would think that they would have somehow gotten around this problem after untold generations in the Ermine Forest. Maybe they would have developed blowdarts, like our own earthly forest peoples.... I do however, note the bald reference to Tolkien's Wood Elves and the like...
I would be genuinely interested in a proposed answer to this question...
