: Hardly, Myth2 went into depth on a number of characters,
: primarily the fallen lords and worked into brilliant
: introductions of the units throughout the game. When i
: build a program and have people review it i take down
: everything they say because the more imput i get the
: broader range of ideas i can come up with based on
: what users say. Bungie, being a company of many
: talents and brains, does the exact same. Of course
: they are going to listen to the "reviewers"
: they arent stupid.
I know Bungie isn't stupid, but since when do you remove areas that could have allowed for more great story to set up a level? I did just fine in Myth with little description of the actual goal of the level, and enjoyed the brief history lesson to boot. The game was just lacking and felt like it was thrown together prematurely and with less thought than the orignal. It seems as if they went all out and made a killer game with a great story for the original to try and attract a fan base, but got lazy on the second title and put a less creative sequel together. This has nothing to do with the story, but don't the net maps in Myth 2 lack the replayability the originals had? I can always hop into a game of Carnage or Team Terries on Creep or Desert, but the new maps don't have the same affect on me.
: And going after Mydred wasnt fun? Taking on the Warlocks
: and having friends like these were adventures just as
: good and fun as in the original myth. Because the
: storyline is not closed there is a very good chance
: future titles could come of the myth universe in which
: more questions will be answered. Just because you
: didnt find what you were looking for the first time
: dont immedietly assume you will never find it. Thats
: arrogant and takes the fun out of the game.
Well, I hardly believe I'm being arrogant, if at all, I'm feeling a little out of touch because I haven't been around here since it was the original Myth Story page way back when. All I'm saying is, I thoroughly enjoyed the orginal Myth because it was something new and it caught me off guard that a game could have such a spectacular story. I was just dissapointed there was not more info on the Watcher and the Deceiver's relationship, Shiver and the Head (who I believe to be the 5th Fallen Lord and was one of the two highest ranking officials in Connacht's time, the other being Soulblighter). Your right, a new game can come out, and they announced they new scenario pack so perhaps there are more answers in it. I was just expecting more I guess.
: ps. And Warcraft 2 is arguably the best game in
: existance. It is a little two sided but at least as
: good as the myth universe so dont even go there.
Arguably, and you better have a strong argument. There is no doubt it was revolutionary but it got completely repetitious after a about the 7th or 8th level when you realize all 20-odd levels are, build, defend against mindless attacks, then attack enemy with larger force than theirs. Not much strategy, not much story but it was something new and exciting.
