The opening scene in a play is always
: the most infromative due to all the characters being
: introduced and the future scenes being set. When you
: introduce a storyline the first time you will always
: need to give the viewer more information than in
: sequels to introduce the world. That is an obvious
: step in any creation of a universe. Besides, if Bungie
: answers too many questions than some interest is lost
: in future titles. Its is better that they add to the
: mystery than kill it.

You missed my point, I understand the concept of setting up a story, but you don't create a fantastic story, history and environment and then don't come back to it in the next installment. Look at Myth, I've played through all the solo levels hundered of times just to hear the the beginning story for the level. In Myth 2, it gave no history and provided no link to the past, it just gave you information on the level and just a bit of info on the story. Why they did this? Because everyone who reviewed their first game said "There needs to be more description of the level in the beginning and less set-up" so of course Bungie is going to listen to the reviewers.

All I'm saying is that the relationship and mystery behind the Fallen Lords, Alric , the Head and in particular the Watcher and the Deceiver is what made playing through Myth fun. There is absolutely nothing like the Head in Myth 2, nothing to start a Myth 2 Story page about. They would not be giving anything away if they were to add some more background and mystery to the story in this sequel, I was just expecting a little more on the past. Are we never to know what happened 1000 years ago with Connacht and why the Watcher is so pissed off at the Deceiver? Myth 2 played not like a sequel but like a Warcraft story...dry and unimaginative.
