In Response To: Re: OHH!! WW HAS A GOOD IDEA! (SiliconDream=PN=)

: 1 attribute point = 4 skill points? Isn't that a little
: excessive? That means boosting all non-special skills
: related to a given attribute by 1 is worth boosting a
: single skill by 8. Since many attributes have less
: than 8 non-special skills, it doesn't seem to me that
: the alternatives are equally useful.

: How about this? 1 attribute point = n/2 skill points,
: where n is the number of non-special skills related to
: that attribute. That way you're basically choosing
: between spreading out your talent over all the related
: skills, or concentrating it on a single one. So: 1 MC
: point = 2 skill points (Brawling, Wrestling, Parry, 1
: standard melee weapon skill)

: 1 RC point = 1 skill point (You're not likely to use more
: than 2 kinds of ranged weapons as a rule)

: 1 S point = 2 skill points (3 non-special skills, + 1
: more for the fact that S helps determine MC weapon
: damage)

: 1 T point = 2 skill points (2 non-special skills, + 2
: more for the fact that T helps protect you from
: damage)

: 1 Int point = 14 (!) skill points (28 non-special
: skills--maybe the Int point value should be fudged and
: lowered a little anyway? It's not like all the skills
: are commonly used)

: 1 DX point = 3 skill points (6 non-special skills)

: 1 I point = 2 skill points (4 non-special skills)

: 1 WP point = 1 skill point (only 1 non-special skill,
: plus it doesn't get used very often)

: 1 Fel point = 4 skill points (11 non-special skills, but
: some of them are semi-redundant)

: Just a thought,

: --SiliconDream

eh? All I meant was that if you sacrifice an attribute point you get four extra points to spend on skills.
If everyone wants then I can use the more complicated and detailed rules that i was planning for the full RPG, but it would take a serious amount of time. I have, as I've said, dozens of rules changes and additions and subtractions that would make the rules better, but they'd be slightly more complicated meaning I would have to write more to expliain them. Are people happy to just go ahead with these rules and start NOW or do you want me to write up the complete RPG first? It would take a small number of months me thinks...
