: )TO THE FIRST RESPONSE)
: Ok this is the most pathetic set of responses i have ever
: gotten.
Perhaps you should pay attention to whom you are flaming. In this case, THE PERSON WHO RUNS THIS SITE. And even if I wasn't, it would still be rude to respond in such an arrogant, even insolent tone, to anyone.
: First of all, Soulblighter had his heart gone
: during the reign of connacht.
Wrong. He did not have the seven-shaped scar on his chest in Myth 1. When someone inquired as to where he got it, at MWNY 98 or MWSF 99 as I recall, Bungie responded that he cut out his heart and secreted it away in his temple so that he could never be killed.
: Second, i said mutant
: not mutilated. Perhaps you should expand your
: vocabulary a bit.
I know you said mutant, and I said mutilated. He does not look like a mutant to me, just a severly mutilated human. HE CUT OFF HIS FACE, of course he's going to look different! And different artists do the cutscenes, sprites, pregame art, and postgame art, and they're further different between Myth 1 and 2, so he's going to look a little different as the artists' styles vary.
: You can see an obvious change
: between soulbighter in the intro and soulblighter in
: any other myth 2 cutscene.
I certainly can't.
: Third of all, the dwarf was
: dead genius...if you notice in the cutscene, he is
: standing over an unmoving corpse of a dwarf.
*AFTER* he screamed and looked over his shoulder. It went like this:
Dwarf running to Devoid, Soulblighter chasing him. Dwarf throws head into Devoid, Soulblighter swings and misses.
Soulblighter screams, we hear a slicing sound, Soulblighter looks over his shoulder.
Soulblighter, standing over dead Dwarf, turns into crows and flies away.
: He killed
: the dwarf, i was wondering why he was so anxious to
: save balor's head.
I too wonder this.
: Fourth, I could understand his
: voice in myth 1, and for those who couldn't, thats why
: there are SUBTITLES UNDER EVERY IMPORTANT SPEECH
: SEQUENCE.
Plenty of people couldn't understand him, and it's nice to be able to hear as well as read characters' speech. That's why they actually talk and we don't just see subtitles.
: It's obvious Bungie meant something else
: with the voice change, because they woudlnt do
: something so incredibly noticeable without it, due to
: their not being idiots.
The same guy did the voices for Balor and for Soulblighter. In Myth:TFL, they sound distincly different because you can't have two bad guys sounding alike. But still, Soulblighter sounds like Balor with no lips and a lot of phlegm in his throat. In Myth II, Soulblighter sounds like Balor with just a tinge of the original Soulblighter voice. I didn't even notice the change until someone else pointed it out, they sound so similar anyway, because THEY'RE THE SAME GUY! (The voices, not the characters).
: (TO THE THIRD REPLY)
: That is the most ridiculous theory I've ever heard. Alric
: was at Rhi'Anon, not the great devoid. He teleported
: the healthiest men in the legion tat were surviving
: along with balor's head, to it with his last remaining
: magical power. Soulblighter wasnt setting a trap for
: alric, becuase ALRIC NEVER CAME AND NEVER PLANNED ON
: IT! DUH! He looked away suddenly for a reason that is
: still unknown, unless someone has an idea that MAKES
: SENSE SOMEWHAT on the matter.
I agree that it likely wasn't Alric Soulblighter saw over his shoulder, but still, what did he see over his shoulder? And why did the Devoid explode? What did Soulblighter want with Balor's head anyway, and how did he know to wait at the Great Devoid for the people carrying it? It certainly seems likely that Soulblighter, somehow, knew that they would come to the Devoid to throw Balor's head in there, and set a trap for everyone to die if they did. It makes sense, then, that he likely expected Alric to be with those who threw the head in, but he wasn't. (why not? he could teleport those dozen-odd men from Rhi'anon to the Devoid, why not himself? did he expect Soulblighter to be there?)
