What's wrong with strange creatures? If they're not Trow or Forest Giants or something, they're no more powerful than ordinary humans. How does it damage gameplay if someone decides to be a spider or something? I mean, it's your game; I'm just curious. If you want to do some "trial runs" first in which everyone's humanoid, just to make it simpler and easier to iron out the kinks in the game, I can make another character.
