I take back what Isaid about Rabbican being the only
person there. I

: impression 'cause it says in Homecoming that
: "Rabbican himself... blah blah blah" as
: though Rabbican is very very powerful and being sent
: through the knot by HIM is something very cool.
I always thought of it as there was fighting all around Madrigal, in one huge battle. Probably all the nine at Madriga lwould be on the field, commanding certain points. Rabicans company was probably the unlucky company to run into little ole Shiver, so Rabican had a choice of running and getting killed or attempting to kill her. Luckily Rabican had the head there to assist him in the duel. Therefore no one "sent" Rabican out to fight Shiver, it was merely a coincidence that the two met on the battlefield.
