In Response To: eRPG Characters (Forrest)

: I have an Idea™! Williamus Wallus wanted to know about my
: idea for an eRPG character. Well, here he is...

: "Archimedes"

: His grandfather fought in the Great War, through many
: crucial battles in the west. His father was born and
: raised in Covenant and helped restore the Great
: Library, befriending such famous men as Antero, and
: becoming a competant magician in his search for the
: Ultimate Truth.

: He is Archimedes, a scholar by nature and a something of
: a magician by benefit of it, but a competant warrior
: when pressed into battle. However, he is a pacifist,
: and is content to wander the world with merely enough
: wealth to survive. He has studied the history of the
: Great Cycles and knows of all the Great Heros,
: Avatara, and Fallen Lords which have come and gone
: over the millenia.

: He has travelled the world and lived with all the races
: hospitable to man, and some who are not. From the
: great cities in the West, to the Berserk camps in the
: North, and through the land of the fir'Bolg. He has
: studied the bre'Unor from within their own territory,
: and slept in Ghol-haunted hills. His ventures have
: brought him through Forest Heart, to the secret arbors
: where Forest Giants live; across the land to the
: cave-dwellings of the Dwarves, and far north to the
: borderlands of the great Trow states.

: All these races - he knows their natures, speaks their
: languages, and keeps many of their secrets. His
: reputation as an ally and a trustworthy friend
: precedes him, and through it he has secured many a
: meal and a good night's sleep. Yet despite his general
: state of contention, he has always felt a calling in
: the back of his mind. For, though he doesn't know it
: yet, his spirit is the most important figure in the
: history of his world.

Thats a nice idea an' all, but wouldn't it be more fun to be going around and trying to find all this stuff out instead of already knowing it?

: --------THE TRUTH--------
: Archimedes is an incarnation of an extremely important
: and powerfull spirit whose fate is predestined by the
: world of Myth. It is continually reincarnated, always
: alive in some form, and is fated to discover one Dream
: every 160 years. Obviously, this would be a great
: advantage, it it were not for one other aspect of his
: spirit. It refuses to become involved in the workings
: of the cycles, as that would only attract attention,
: and attention is the last thing it wants. It wants
: only to end the cycles on schedule, to become the
: Avatar of Wyrd, bringing the world into absolute
: contrast, pure light and pure darkness, and thus
: ending it, ushering in the creation of a new,
: perfectly balanced world. Thus, incarnations like
: Archimedes, when they discover their nature, are
: inable to bring themselves to use the vast powers at
: their disposal.
: -------------------------

Thats fine, as long as you roleplay it as though he doesn't know what it is. Also see what i put above.

: (Stats are based on GURPS Lite stats - I dunno how they
: would be converted to your system, Will).

I am using the advantages/disadvatages from GURPS Lite and GURPS Myth. I am using some skills from GURPS Lite mixed with my own creations and skills from GURPS Myth. I doubt you'd have enough character points to have all those skills at even reasonable levels, unless you character is quite old (amount of point allowed on skills = age x 10. Unless of course you are REALLY old in which case you start losing pts).
