: theory that the titanic explosion at Rhi'anon was
: Balor's body detonating, at the same time that his
: head blew up at the Devoid. Alric may have
: intentionally dropped the body off in front of the
: fortress to destroy the half-million Dark minions and
: grant the remaining Legionnaires a more merciful
: death.
Except that in the middle of the confrontation with Balor, he says "The rest of your legion has been destroyed, Alric!" and limbs & heads come raining down. So they were already dead by the time Balor fell.
