: Not to interfere in what will probably turn out to be the
: most epic (and definitely the longest) debate in the
: history of the Asylum, but I was wondering why either
: of you would be dissatisfied with the story's
: explanation of Balor's poor generalship, namely the
: turning of the cycle. It's the end of the Light
: Age--the Leveller is *supposed* to appear and get
: killed. If the forces of fate accomplish this by
: making him a terrible strategist, why is that so
: surprising? The only unexpected (and cycle-breaking)
: thing is that the Dark armies fell with him, possibly
: because he *did* bind them (at least the mindless
: ones) to him.
Um, wasn't Balor supposed to win and maybe be killed later? The only model we have for a Dark Age is the Wind Age, and that's what happened there.
