: At the end of the last battle, in Myth 1, Alric finds
: himself facing a horde of myrmidons, with only one
: dispersal dream left. The horde is too far spread for
: it to take out them all, and although his sword swing
: speed is the fastest I have ever seen, Alric could
: have never taken out that many guys after getting
: nearly microwaved by the leveler and a gang of
: Fetch...so...how in the world did he survive?
Balor died. Alric was right about the lesser Fallen (like the Thrall and Myrmidons) depending on him for motive power; upon his death, the Myrmidons all expired (although there was a bit of a time lag, probably because it was hard to make the Myrmidons disintegrate onscreen.) The few undead that you meet in the next level are still up and moving because they belong to and were reanimated by Soulblighter personally.
: Also, in the Level Shiver, in Myth 2, The Deceiver is
: blown to pieces by Shiver's death explosion. So...in
: the next mission, how can it say the deceiver
: possesses a part of soulblighter's soul? HE DOESNT!
: HES DEAD! Were the two levels occuring at the same
: time or something? I am kind of confused.
Actually, according to the journal dates, The Deceiver and the champions set out after Shiver on the same day as Alric's forces attack Soulblighter in "Twice Born," and Alric enters Tharsis to hunt down Soulblighter only two days later. Conceivably The Deceiver's team hasn't yet killed Shiver (who knows how long it took them to travel from Alric's camp to the badlands where "Shiver" begins?), so The Deceiver might still be alive. Also, if you scroll down the message index you'll see that a number of theories have been posted about how The Deceiver might have faked his death; it might have been an illusion, he might have transferred his consciousness to Phelot's body, it might not even have been the real Deceiver in the first place, etc. Pick your favorite.
: Also, I'd like to address the Phelot Situation. Why did
: Phelot turn on his masters? It is quite simple after
: piecing together the part about him in the briefing of
: the leel at soulblighter's camp. It says phelot was
: grievley wounded by the deceiver. HINT HINT! What can
: the Deceiver do with his magic? Take over people's
: minds! That is why Phelot did what he did!
Yep.
: Also, to close this posting, I'd like to ask a question.
: What happened to the Balmung sword? Alric must have
: been thoroughly insane not to take it with him into
: the final level. So WHY DIDNT HE?
Balmung breaks after a lucky swing or spell by Soulblighter. (You can see its broken half on the ground.) This is what gives Soulblighter the opportunity to retreate and flee into the volcano. Alric pursues, weaponless, and presumably borrows someone else's sword for the next level. It's a shame that Balmung broke, it being the coolest weapon in the game, but hopefully "the sword that was broken shall be forged anew," and like that.
