: My point was that Connacht had no enemies left to
: vanquish, ALL of his resources and himself were put
: towards finding the articfacts. Alric has a large war
: to fight with the Leveller and six Fallen Lords, so
: therefore he cannot send his army out looking for the
: stone. It's much, much more difficult this time
: around.
: But, no evidence of how he found the stone is presented
: either way, so I'm just bringing up one possible
: theory.
True, but, 1. Connacht was looking for a bunch of artifacts at the same time 2. Connacht was looking for five Eblis Stones, Alric needs only one. 3. Alric may have been looking for the stone since the War began--that's fifteen years, surely longer than it took Connacht to find one stone. 4. Alric may possess the Stone from the VERY BEGINNING of the War--it might have been kept in storage all this time b/c he was waiting for an opportunity to use it. 5. If that last part isn't true, there has to be some records, written by someone of the Cath Bruig, detailing how the stones were lost, so Alric already has some nice clues to go on. 6. Still no reason the D would know the location of an Eblis Stone any better than a J-man--no reason he'd no the location of an Eblis Stone period.
So, yeah, it's POSSIBLE he knew and told Alric somewhere along the line. But you're pushing the cloaking theory again, which would require the D, in the guise of Balor, to "accidentally" reveal the location of one of the Stones. I'll say it once, I'll say it again: I can't even begin to imagine how the D would accomplish that without making Alric suspect something was fishy.
You seem to be dropping the Watcher's arm idea. As I said, it's probable that the Head simply told Alric of it's power--he told Alric of its location, and Alric wouldn't send out any guys unless he had a good reason from the Head.
: As for your "slipped info", let's can it. The
: Deceiver could have made the Legion aware of its
: location somehow, though *nothing* is documented about
: its location or the circumstances under which the
: Eblis stone was found. So, any theory is welcome
: because so far nobody has come up with a proven
: theory.
OK, I'm assuming by this that you mean he may have revealed it in some circumstance other than when you theorize he, the Deceiver, held Alric captive, but my previous objections still apply.
