: Hmm...no, I don't recall that. Soulblighter was pressent
: as the Watcher tore through Covenant on his push after
: the Legion, who posessed the Codex. So, he was around
: early in the game. Soulblighter came from the Untamed
: Lands and routed the Legion in Forest Heart, but it
: doesn't specify what he was doing in the Untamed Lands
: or how long he was there.
: The cutscene for "Forest Heart" shows
: Soulbligter's soldiers unearthing the Tain in the
: forest, not the Untamed Lands.

Never mind, you might be right, it's not that important.

: Then how would Alric find the Eblis stone? It's certainly
: not an easy thing to find, one stone in all of that
: world.

He would find the Eblis Stone the same way that Damas found a small object like the Tain...doing a lot of looking. Besides, he there are five of them, making it easier. Look, there are numerous possibilities. The Cath Bruig might have actually had it in storage, so maybe Alric was waiting for a chance to use it. Maybe there were old records of where it was hidden. Maybe one of the Nine had been looking for it, and was using his magical abilities to probe for it. Maybe he had somebody slowly tracking it down, based on historical records. Maybe the Codex told of its location.

I can dream up a thousand possibilities--in any case, there's nothing even close to a convincing reason as to why the D had to tell Alric where to find the stone. The only evidence you bring up is that the D was alive back then, but
1. There are J-men who were alive back then, too
2. Connacht once owned the Tain, which meant Damas knew where it was...yet, in the thousand-year interval, Damas lost track of it. Same thing probably happened with the Deceiver...he probably didn't have a clue as to where to find the Eblis Stones.

:After all, it took the Deceiver over one year
: of digging to find the Watcher's arm (and the D still
: didn't get it) when it was the Deceiver who imprisoned
: the Watcher, so he should know the location fairly
: well.

I'm not quite sure what you're talking about here. Are you still talking about the Eblis Stone? Are are you pushing the idea that the D told Alric where to find the Watcher's arm? If the latter, remember, it makes no sense (and Dan agrees with me on this one) for the D to tell Alric where the arm is, then end up fighting Alric's men when they come to claim it.

Also, none of this jives with your "slipped info" theory. How the hell does the D "accidentally" tell Alric both where an Eblis Stone is along with where to find the Watcher's arm? Alric would know something is fishy.
