: Obviously not. So either the Head must have told, or they
: read about it in the Codex.

Yeah, that's all possible. Obviously there are plenty of ideas as to how they found the Watcher's arm. It's just clear that the Deceiver didn't tell them where it was, or what it's significance was, certainly not as part of any deal between him and Alric.

: Exactly. The Tain was one of the other items Damas
: rounded up. He took everything he could find to his
: temple in the Untamed Lands. If the Cath Bruig had had
: that Ebilis Stone, it would have ended up in the same
: place.

Not exactly sure what you're talking about...Damas never took it to his temple. Remember the cutscene before the "Forest Heart" mission? Soulblighter digs the Tain up, then flies over to your units and imprisons them, then has it get shattered.
Anyway, my point was just that, in between the Golden Age of the Cath Bruig and the Great War (about 1,000 years), those who had possessed the Tain--the likes of the Deceiver, Connacht, and Damas, lost track of it. This illustrates that the same thing could have happened with any one of the five Eblis stones, and that there's no reason to believe the Deceiver knew where the Eblis stone that Alric ends up getting was hidden. So, there's no evidence here of any pact between the D and Alric.
