: If the narrator found out, a good chunk of the legion
: must have found out. One would expect Balor would find
: out too.
Why would you assume this? I doubt the Legion does much sharing of intelligence with the Fallen. Balor doesn't seem to communicate much throughout the game and the Dark would write off any notion of Balor being with Alric (if he wasn't there) as nonsense.
You can assume that since the narrator finds out that Alric was interogated by Balor on "The Road North" that anything that was said at or after this point did not reach the other soldiers or the Dark because the war ended one month after that point. There would not been much time for discussion of what Alric said happened seven months ago at the Watcher's camp because he's being pressed and is morw worried about killing off the advancing Legion. Balor would surely not hear of anything said by the Legion, if not because the men who knew of Alric's interrogation did not go running around with undead sharing secrets, but he simply hadn't time to hear the news.
The War was fiercer than ever and let's say that if Balor found out that Alric was interrogated by himself, but he knew he was never there and assumed the Deceiver had done the tricking, the Deceiver may or may not be missing at this point so no punishment could be delt out. Plus , if Balor knew, he probably figured he would deal with all the side matters after he crushed the Legion.
