In Response To: Re: READ THIS, NOT BELOW (I hit "POST" b (Chris t' Crappy)
: I did, a few times actually.
I can't see where...but in any case, you haven't explained your new theory, as I asked you to. Please do so. Also, list any evidence you have (or say you have none, as the case may be).
: Perfect in military strategy and defense is totally
: different than have someone bring the battle standard
: of one of your most hated enemies out and mock you
: with it.
Why? Someone who was perfect in military matters (and I still don't see where you're getting this from) would notice Alric and a few men and notice, from a military perspective, that something fishy was up. Or (did you forget I mentioned this?) would, instead of sending wave after wave of thrall at you, marchup the hill and zap you, or send all those Myrmidons you see at the end at you, or send all his fetch at you at the same time. He could have easily destroyed you, if he was militarily perfect but didn't--because Bungie wanted to make it possible to win.
Let me illusrate it this way--when you play a Light vs. Dark game on the Last Battle, the guy controlling the Dark can win any time it wants. All it has to do is send all of its guys at the Light, all at the same time. Are you implying that a common Myth player is better at military strategy than someone who is "perfect" in military matters?
: Again, Balor would not make the mistake to leave Alric by
: himself.
He can make mistakes...
: The end-game screen is speculation on Bungie's part. It's
: also motivation to win. If you lose you see your
: target killed so when you restart the level you
: realize if you don't win Alric dies. The story is
: linear, however you argue its not is ridiculous. There
: is only one way through the game to fulfill the story.
: And that is to win.
What??? Bungie has to speculate??? They frickin' made the game!!! They don't have to speculate!!! They are TELLING YOU WHAT HAPPENS! I mean...come on! In forty-odd levels over two games, do you think that all that post-game art means nothing except what Bungie "guesses" happens next? You think they drew a picture of a dead Alric because they're trying to trick you? The game-makers are trying to trick you? Or because they honestly don't know what happens--the game makers don't know what happens in their own frickin' gmame??? If this is what you're speculations rely upon...and they really do appear to...you got some serious problems.
: Plus, let's remember balloons aren't space ships, you can
: still see the balloon way up in the air. The pre-game
: cutscene shows ghols watching and spying on you. Are
: you telling me that no Dark soldier reported back to
: Balor or the D and said "Um, we may have a
: problem, want to come down here and blast them with
: your lightning?". It all seems extreemely odd.
Crap, I dunno. It was a cloudy day, and the balloons can fly high. Or the five were dropped off in a really out of the way place. However they did it, clearly, the dwarves knew that they could evade the sight of the Dark and comolete the mission in a secret matter, or else they wouldn't have tried in the first place.
